Open Question: iphone 3g wallpaper jailbroken problem?

i have an iphone 3g and at one point it was jailbroken. i did not like how slow it was so i set the phone back to the original jailed state. one of the wallpaper programs.. winterboard.. etc was used to change the background and now i cant change it. is there anyway to remove the wallpaper? i have already tried restoring and attempting to jailbreak the phone again but it wont work. i am open to clearing any and all information on my phone.
